Defense Trade Secret Verdict

The Tyz Law Group took over representation of a semiconductor solutions provider from an AmLaw100 firm shortly before trial to defend against claims of trade secret misappropriation and breach of contract in the Eastern District of Texas. Part of the Court’s agreement to allow substitution of counsel was our willingness to keep the current trial schedule. We quickly got up to speed on the facts and the law and prepared a compelling narrative and went to trial on the originally scheduled date in the Eastern District of Texas. After a lengthy trial and deliberations, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of our client, vindicating him of all claims of wrongdoing. As part of the case, the Plaintiff had sought roughly $83.5 million in damages. When the jury verdict was read, our client had tears of joy. This case showcases our ability and track record of taking over cases of mid-litigation, even right before trial from a larger, more established law firm and obtaining favorable results for our clients. Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., v. Yiren Huang, No. 4:17-cv-00893 (E.D. Texas June 27, 2019).
