Defended Copyright Ownership

We were engaged by a London-based video game developer, to defend against claims of copyright ownership in the District of Minnesota.  The case involved a former independent contractor who engaged to contribute to the video game at issue and he claimed that he was a co-owner and therefore entitled to half of all the profits. We litigated the case through expert discovery and the case resolved in a confidential settlement agreement. This paved the way for the company to launch and continue to expand the game, including on console devices.
