Tyz Law Group Welcomes Monica Chinchilla to the Team

Tyz Law Group, a Northern California-based boutique Intellectual Property litigation and counseling firm, is pleased to announce that Monica Chinchilla will be joining the team in her first post-law school role.

Monica brings a diverse set of professional experiences to Tyz Law, both during law school and prior.  While in law school, she has spent time at a tech company, a law firm, with the USF School of Law’s Intellectual Property Clinic, at the City Attorney of San Francisco, and as an intern for the Honorable Judge Beverly Wood of the Marin County Superior Court.  Before law school, she served as Chief of Staff in the San Francisco Board of Supervisors District 11 and worked as a paralegal at the law offices of Stephen M. Murphy in San Francisco.

“Monica’s breadth of experience is a testament to her agility, adaptability and competence and makes her a perfect addition, adding bench strength and capacity for the growing team” said Ryan Tyz, principal and founder of Tyz Law Group. “Importantly, with the addition of Monica, our 12-person team includes 9 women.  We are all excited to have her join Tyz Law Group.”

As for joining the firm, Monica says, “I am excited to join Tyz Law Group. They are doing amazing work and are not afraid to think outside the box in how they structure their business. Plus, being a part of team that is a majority women is a huge bonus for me. That’s not common and another reason why Tyz is breaking barriers. This is an environment I am inspired to work in and develop my skills as a litigator.”

Monica is currently a Juris Doctor Candidate at the University of San Francisco School of Law and is expected to graduate in May 2024. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of San Francisco.
