Tyz Law Group Welcomes Litigator and Trial Attorney Udit Sood to the Firm

Tyz Law Group, a Northern California-based boutique Intellectual Property litigation and counseling firm, is pleased to announce that Udit Sood has joined the firm as an intellectual property litigation and trial attorney.

Udit has litigated complex IP disputes for over a decade, most recently with Covington & Burling in San Francisco.  During his 9 years with Covington, Udit handled contentious offensive and defensive patent, trade secret, and business tort matters involving innovations in semiconductors, AI/robotics, software, communication and video compression standards, data storage/security, gaming, and other technologies.  Udit has a background in Computer Science, and his legal experience spans pre-litigation counseling and licensing to all aspects of litigation, including arbitration, trial and appeals.  Originally from New Delhi, Udit is fluent in Hindi and was admitted to the California Bar in January 2016.

“We are thrilled that Udit is joining the Tyz Law Team.  As an accomplished litigator and trial attorney, and with his depth of knowledge in patent litigation, he expands capacity and complements the existing team” said Ryan Tyz, principal and founder of Tyz Law Group.   With the addition of Udit, Tyz Law Group is now comprised of 12 attorneys.

As for joining the firm, Udit said, “Ryan and his team have an extraordinary track record.  They routinely encounter and triumph over much larger firms thanks to their creativity, agility, and uncompromising dedication to excellence.  I am delighted to join this group and look forward to growing our practice together.”

In 2015, Udit earned an LLM in Law, Science & Technology from Stanford Law School.  He obtained an LLB (JD equivalent) in 2011 from the national University of Juridical Sciences (Kolkata, India) and graduated from St. Columba's School (New Delhi, India) with a gold medal in CS/C++ engineering.
