Tyz Law Group Welcomes Former Fenwick Litigation and Intellectual Property Attorney Ciara McHale
July 22, 2019 – San Francisco – We are pleased to announce that Ciara McHale has joined the Tyz Law Group as a litigation and IP attorney.
Ciara joins the Tyz Law Group after having spent the first six years of her career at Fenwick & West, where she was a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Commercial Litigation Group. While there, Ciara focused her practice on intellectual property and business disputes, with an emphasis on copyright, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition and commercial litigation matters for clients in the Internet, digital media and software industries. Ciara was involved in a number of significant litigations, including high stakes copyright and trademark matters. She also devoted a substantial portion of her practice to counseling clients on a wide variety of matters within her expertise, including consumer protection and privacy laws and policies, secondary liability for online service providers, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, anonymous speech on the Internet, and right of publicity.
With Ciara’s addition, the Tyz Law Group team is now comprised of six attorneys, five of whom spent the bulk of their careers at Fenwick.

A native Californian, Ciara received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2013, where she was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence and the Prosser Prize in Written and Oral Advocacy and Constitutional Law. While in law school, Ciara was a member of the Berkeley Law Mock Trial Team and served as Co-Chair of the Berkeley Law Board of Advocates and on the Editorial Board of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. Ciara also served as an extern to the Honorable Ronald M. Whyte, of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She received her B.A., with distinction, in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009. Ciara is currently resident in Chicago, Illinois.
